    Bridget Barton

    For 30 years, Bridget Barton has been a trusted advisor and advocate for Oregon’s most iconic builders, creators and employers. In 1997, Barton and her business partner took a risk and launched Brainstorm NW magazine. For 12 years, Barton edited and published Oregon’s premier print publication focused on business and economic issues, which later became the digital publication, Oregon Transformation Newsletter.

    Thousands of Oregonians continue to rely on the Oregon Transformation Newsletter for thoughtful perspectives on important state and regional issues, including community and elected leaders, as well as business leaders and other media.

    Barton has written for a variety of news publications, such as Oregon Business, the Portland Business Journal, Oregon Catalyst, the Daily Journal of Commerce, the Oregonian, the Daily Astorian, the Vancouver Columbian and the Washington Examiner. She has been a frequent guest on talk radio shows, such as OPB's "Think Out Loud," Lars Larson, and other statewide talk shows. Barton was a frequent commentator on Oregon Public Broadcasting’s simulcast TV/radio program, “Seven Days.” She is a trusted and tested public policy voice in Oregon.

    Barton served previously on the Clackamas County Children and Youth Coordinating Council, the South Fork Water Board Budget Committee, and the City of West Linn’s Public Facilities Task Force. More recently she served on the DePaul Treatment Center Board, and serves currently on the Freedom Foundation and Clackamas Extension Service Boards.

    Bridget Barton and Curtis, her husband of 39 years, live in West Linn, Ore. They have two adult children, a son and a daughter, who she put through college by breaking horses. She is an award-winning jumper rider.

    Barton received her bachelor’s degree in philosophy and secondary-level teaching certification from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.

  • Jim Pasero

    Jim Pasero

    Jim Pasero is a principal at the public affairs company, Third Century Solutions.

    He was co-host from 2008-20 of KXL’s (FM 101.1) top rated weekend political commentary show, “Kremer, Abrams and Pasero.”

    From 1997-2009, Pasero served as publisher and part owner of BrainstormNW. From 2006-2008, Pasero was also the Northwest correspondent for Travel and Leisure Golf magazine, an American Express publication.

    In the mid 1980s, Pasero served as a professional staff member on Congress’ Joint Economic Committee. In 1989-1990, Pasero worked as speechwriter for U.S. Sen Dave Durenberger. During that time, Pasero also staffed the Pepper Commission, a blue ribbon congressional commission on health care policy. In 1992, Pasero became director of speechwriting for the Republican National Committee during that year’s presidential campaign.

    From 2008-2010, Pasero also appeared as a regular panelist on Comcast’s NBA Portland Trailblazer post-game show, “Talking Ball.”

    Pasero graduated from the University of Oregon and holds a graduate degree in International Economics from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies.

    Currently Pasero serves as a board member of the Olympia, WA based Freedom Foundation.
