In 1997 Barton founded BrainstormNW. From 1997-2009, Bridget Barton served as editor, business manager and part owner of the magazine. During its 12-year run, the magazine earned its tagline, “BrainstormNW – the magazine for Northwest decision makers.”
Prior to her move into publishing, Barton was a free lance writer and columnist, contributing to local, statewide and national media. From 1994-96, Barton worked as a policy analyst, specializing in education policy, for Cascade Policy Institute. Barton has been a frequent guest on talk radio and was a regular commentator on OPB’s simulcast TV/radio program, “Seven Days.”
Barton attended Emory University in Atlanta, Ga., and received her bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the College of William and Mary in Virginia.
